Eligibility
For consideration for the School of Dental Medicine BMP students must complete the following by October 31 of their BMP enrollment. This will qualify them to be considered to enter the DMD program the following fall term.
- Applicant’s letter of interest
- Applicant’s personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation from undergraduate faculty, or preferably a composite letter from the applicant’s school’s pre-health advisory committee
- An official transcript(s) of all previous coursework to date
- Official DAT score reports for all tests taken
Additional Requirements
- Prior to matriculation into the BMP program, the applicant must have successfully completed the SDM’s pre-requisite admission courses at a minimum of a 3.2 grade or above (3.2 or above in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
- ECE evaluation of international transcripts are required (outside US/Canada);
- No more than 30% of an applicant’s credits, or SDM pre-requisite admission courses, can be taken at a community college;
- An official report of all previous DAT scores;
- Applications must be made while enrolled in the BMP program.
- Enrollment in the Dental track of the BMP coursework
- A Cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher from BMP coursework
- A minimum DAT average of 21, with no section score below 17
- A clean record of rules, policies, procedures and honor codes, probation, suspension, dismissal, and academic integrity from all attended institutions. Students are required to submit a record of any such misconduct (or formal inquiry into such misconduct) regardless of whether the instruction maintains record or whether it appears on the student's transcript.
